Collection: Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have long been recognized as one of England's most influential football clubs, not only because of their trophies but also because of their commitment to attacking football. Founded in 1882 by a group of schoolboys from North London, Spurs quickly rose through the English football pyramid and became the only non-League club to win the FA Cup after the formation of the Football League, defeating Sheffield United in the 1901 final. That victory established Tottenham as one of England's leading clubs well before the modern era.
The club enjoyed its greatest period of domestic success under legendary manager Bill Nicholson. During the 1960/61 season, Tottenham became the first club of the twentieth century to complete the League and FA Cup double, finishing eight points clear at the top of the First Division before lifting the FA Cup just a few weeks later. Success continued throughout the decade, and in 1963 Spurs became the first British club to win a major European trophy by defeating Atlético Madrid 5-1 in the European Cup Winners' Cup final. Players such as Danny Blanchflower, Jimmy Greaves and Dave Mackay became club legends during this remarkable period.
Although league titles have proved elusive in recent decades, Tottenham have consistently produced outstanding players and memorable European campaigns. Glenn Hoddle and Paul Gascoigne became two of England's finest midfielders during the 1980s and early 1990s, while Harry Kane developed through the club's academy to become Tottenham's all-time leading goal scorer with 280 goals before joining Bayern Munich in 2023. Under Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs reached the Champions League final in 2019 after one of the competition's greatest semi-final comebacks against Ajax, with Lucas Moura scoring a dramatic hat-trick in Amsterdam to send the club to its first European Cup final.
Tottenham's white shirts and navy shorts have remained virtually unchanged for more than a century, making them one of the most recognizable clubs in English football. Umbro produced many of the club's classic shirts throughout the 20th century before Puma, Kappa and Under Armour all enjoyed spells as manufacturer. Since 2017, Nike has made Tottenham's kits. Among collectors, the 1990/91 home shirt remains one of the club's most iconic designs after Paul Gascoigne inspired Spurs to FA Cup success. The 2018/19 home shirt has also become increasingly popular because it was worn during the unforgettable run to the Champions League final, while vintage Holsten-sponsored shirts from the late 1980s and 1990s continue to rank among the most sought-after Tottenham football shirts.
