Aston Villa 2009/10 Away Shirt Match Issue

Aston Villa’s 2009/10 away shirt was produced by Nike for Martin O’Neill’s side, with the predominantly white design featuring blue and claret details. This long-sleeve version is a match issue football shirt, prepared to be used in a competitive fixture rather than produced as a standard retail version. Match issue examples from this season have features such as printed wash labels, more ventilated match issue material and competition-specific details. The shirt comes from a season in which Aston Villa finished sixth in the Premier League, their third consecutive sixth-place finish.

Villa collected 64 points from 38 Premier League matches in 2009/10, with 17 wins, 13 draws and eight defeats. They also reached the League Cup final, where they lost 2–1 to Manchester United, and the FA Cup semi-finals before being eliminated by Chelsea. In Europe, Villa entered the Europa League play-off round against Rapid Wien. After losing the first leg 1–0 in Vienna, they won 2–1 at Villa Park, but Rapid progressed on away goals. John Carew finished as the club’s top scorer across all competitions with 17 goals, while Gabriel Agbonlahor led the team in Premier League goals with 13. James Milner also had a productive campaign, contributing seven league goals and 12 assists. This long-sleeve football shirt is medium in size and is in excellent condition, retaining the characteristics associated with the match-issue version rather than the standard retail shirt.
