Aston Villa 2022/23 Home Shirt Buendia

Aston Villa’s 2022/23 home shirt was the first home kit produced by Castore after the club ended its three-season partnership with Kappa. The shirt uses Aston Villa’s traditional claret body with light blue sleeves and a claret V-neck with light blue trim. Subtle embossed chevrons run across the front and back of the shirt, representing honours from the club’s history. A light blue lion is placed on the upper back below the collar, while the Aston Villa crest features a three-dimensional silicone finish. Cazoo was the club’s main shirt sponsor during the 2022/23 season, with the sponsor logo positioned centrally on the front. Castore incorporated lightweight, high-stretch fabric, ergonomic panel construction and laser-cut ventilation holes into the shirt. The design was officially unveiled on 8 July 2022 and was worn by Aston Villa throughout the Premier League campaign.

Emiliano Buendía wore number 10 for Aston Villa during the 2022/23 season. The Argentine attacking midfielder made 38 Premier League appearances, including 27 starts, and finished the campaign with five Premier League goals and two assists. He also played in the FA Cup and EFL Cup, bringing his total appearances for the season to 41 and his total goals to five. Buendía had joined Aston Villa from Norwich City in 2021 after helping Norwich win the 2020/21 Championship, and the 2022/23 campaign was his second full season at Villa Park. Aston Villa changed manager during the season, with Steven Gerrard leaving in October and Unai Emery taking charge in November. Under Emery, Villa recovered from a difficult start and finished seventh in the Premier League with 61 points, securing qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
