Barcelona 2007/08 Away Shirt Henry (M-Mint)

Thierry Henry left Arsenal for Barcelona in the summer of 2007 for a fee of 24 million euros, joining a Camp Nou dressing room that already contained Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o and a 20-year-old Lionel Messi, still two years away from establishing himself as the best player in the world.

Henry's first season in Catalonia did not go as hoped for the club as a whole. Barcelona finished third in La Liga, eight points behind champions Real Madrid, and were eliminated by Manchester United in the Champions League semi-final after a goalless first leg and a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford settled by a late Paul Scholes strike. Individually, Henry adapted to a wide-left role under manager Frank Rijkaard and still finished the season with 19 goals in all competitions, including his first hat-trick in a Barcelona shirt. The campaign proved to be a turning point regardless of the lack of trophies, as Rijkaard departed at its end and was replaced by Pep Guardiola, while Ronaldinho left for AC Milan, clearing the way for Messi to become the team's leading man.

This away shirt, made by Nike, uses a teal base with neon green detailing and the UNICEF sponsor logo across the front, released to mark the Camp Nou's 50th anniversary that season. Henry wore this shirt in various away fixtures across Spain and Europe throughout the campaign, alongside Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta, the young players who would go on to define the club's next era together.
