Camp Nou in Barcelona opened in 1957 and has a capacity of 99,354, making it the largest stadium in Europe. FC Barcelona have won LaLiga 29 times, the Copa del Rey 31 times, and the UEFA Champions League five times. The club is historically tied to Catalonia, and the Catalan flag, the Senyera, features regularly in and on their football shirts. The 2011/12 season was also the last under Pep Guardiola, who had transformed Barça into one of the most decorated sides in football history since taking charge in 2008. During his four-year reign the club won 14 trophies in total.
The 2011/12 season brought trophies but also one significant disappointment. Barcelona finished second in LaLiga, with Real Madrid winning the title on a record 100 points, the only time in Guardiola's tenure that Barça did not win the league. They beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in the Copa del Rey final but were knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by eventual winners Chelsea, losing 3–2 on aggregate after a dramatic second leg at Stamford Bridge. Andrés Iniesta had one of his finest individual seasons despite the Champions League exit, scoring 8 goals and registering 13 assists across all competitions, the highest combined output of his career up to that point. He went on to be named UEFA Best Player in Europe for the 2011/12 season, the first time a player other than Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo had won the award since 2007.
This Barcelona 2011/12 home shirt is made by Nike and features blue and red vertical stripes across the body with completely solid blue sleeves. The collar is a red round neck. This was also the first season the Qatar Foundation logo appeared as front-of-shirt sponsor, replacing the UNICEF logo that Barça had carried for free since 2006. The UNICEF logo was moved to the back of the shirt. The shirt is printed with Iniesta's name and number 8 on the back. This Barcelona home shirt comes in size small (S) and excellent condition, as there are two tiny bobbles on the lower back of the shirt. Nike used 419877-486 as style code for this shirt.
