This Barcelona 2019/20 home shirt was manufactured by Nike and became one of the most controversial home shirts in the club's history. For the first time ever, the traditional blue and red vertical stripes were replaced by a chequered pattern inspired by the grid layout of Barcelona's Eixample district. The squares continue across both the front and back of the shirt, while the sleeves remain solid blue. A yellow Nike swoosh, yellow trim on the V neck collar and the Catalan Senyera on the front of the collar complete the design. This Barca 2019/20 home shirt comes in player version and is available in size small (S) and mint condition, meaning the shirt is as new. AJ5257-456 is the style code for this Nike and Barca football shirt.
The 2019/20 season was Barcelona's final campaign under Ernesto Valverde, who was replaced by Quique Setién in January 2020. The season was interrupted for almost three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic before LaLiga resumed behind closed doors. Barcelona finished second with 82 points, five behind Real Madrid, while the Copa del Rey campaign ended with a 1-0 quarter final defeat to Athletic Club. In the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona reached the quarter finals before suffering an historic 8-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in Lisbon. This season saw the emergence of young midfielder Riqui Puig and the arrival of Frenkie de Jong from Ajax.
Barcelona is known as one of the biggest football clubs in Europe. Mostly because of their revolution football with Johan Cruyff and later with Pep Guardiola as manager. Their La Masia youth system remains as arguably the best in the world.
