The Belgian national team reached the top of the FIFA World Rankings for the first time in 2015, a position it held for long stretches through the following decade. The side built its reputation on a so-called golden generation of players who came through together in the early 2010s, including Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois, taking Belgium from a mid-table European nation to one of the most feared squads in world football.
This shirt was worn at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, widely seen as the last major tournament for that golden generation. Despite entering as one of the favorites, Belgium were eliminated in the group stage, losing 2-0 to Morocco and 1-0 to Croatia after starting with a narrow win over Canada. Eden Hazard, the team's captain, retired from international football shortly after the tournament, and the squad that had reached the World Cup semi-final in 2018 was never able to add a major trophy to its name.
Made by Adidas, the home shirt features a red torso with black raglan sleeves and a digitized flame graphic rising from the cuffs, a design nodding to the "Red Devils" nickname. The badge carries a shiny gold finish and the shorts and socks continue the flame motif. It is one of the more divisive Belgian kits among collectors, often remembered as the shirt of a final, unsuccessful push by Lukaku, De Bruyne and Hazard for the trophy that had eluded their era. This Belgium 2022/23 home shirt comes in size medium (M) and mint condition, meaning the shirt is as new. Adidas was the shirt's manufacturer, and they used HD9412 as style code for this home shirt.
