Chelsea Football Club play their home matches at Stamford Bridge in west London, a ground the club has occupied since its founding in 1905. By the 2014/15 season the club had already won four Premier League titles and the 2012 Champions League, and operated under the ownership of Roman Abramovich, who had turned Chelsea into one of the wealthiest and most decorated clubs in English football since 2003.

This shirt was worn during José Mourinho's second spell as manager, in a season that delivered Chelsea's fourth Premier League title. The club strengthened significantly in the summer of 2014, signing Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis, and topped the table for a record 274 days that season. Chelsea secured the title with three games to spare following a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on 3 May 2015, finishing eight points clear of Manchester City. Eden Hazard was the standout performer, scoring 14 goals in a season that brought him the PFA Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season awards, a clean sweep of the league's individual honours. This 2014/15 home shirt was one the last Chelsea home shirt before the club switched to Nike a few seasons later, finished in the traditional royal blue with white trim on the sleeves and a more fitted cut than previous seasons. It was the shirt in which Hazard scored the title-clinching goal against Crystal Palace, heading in the rebound of his own penalty, and is closely associated with one of the most dominant individual Premier League campaigns of the decade.
