Club America is one of the biggest football clubs from Mexico. They were founded in 1916 in the capital Mexico City and play their home games in the Estadio Azteca, with a capacity of more than 80.000. Some say it is the best football stadium in the world, because of its facilities, atmosphere and geographic location, but most importantly its football heritage. Many big football moments were played in this exact stadium such as the iconic ''Hand of God'' goal from Diego Maradona, where he scored with his hand.
In the 2016 season, Club America went on to finish in 5th place in Liga MX, which was a frustrating result for them. After this season, they would strengthen their squad with some experienced European players and their own young prospects. Some key players in this Club America 2016 squad were Quintero, Diego Lainez and Guido Rodriguez. The last later made a transfer to Real Betis and West ham United, before joining Valencia.
Club America is known for having some of the best football jerseys out there. Together with Nike, they often refer to their culture, believes and indigenous people with their shirts. That's why the club is one of Nike's best selling clubs in South America. This Club America 2016 away shirt features some Azteca details, with both the shirt's pattern and the small tag on the back of the collar. 776819-678 is the style code for this shirt, used for identifying the authenticity. You can find Nike's style code tags near the washing labels, see photo 3.
