Adidas made remake shirts specifically for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. This 2018 away shirt is a remake of the iconic away shirt from the Valderrama era, one of Colombia's greatest football players ever. Just like the home shirt, this away one became of the best-selling football shirts for the 2018 World Cup.
In the World Cup Colombia started their tournament in good form. They got placed in a relatively easy group with Poland, Senegal and Japan, where the South Americans managed to top the group with a total of 6 points. As they won their group, Colombia advanced to the knockout stages and faced England in the round of 16. Colombia played a great 120 minutes of football before the game went to penalties. England, with many experienced players, won the game on penalties (3-4). Colombia had hoped for a loner stay in the tournament but fought well. The last one played a huge part in Colombia's success in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and was expected to lead the country this year.
