The 2018/19 season ended with Galatasaray retaining the Süper Lig title under Fatih Terim. The squad combined experienced internationals such as Fernando Muslera, Younes Belhanda and Sofiane Feghouli with January signings Henry Onyekuru and Mbaye Diagne, whose goals proved decisive in the closing games of the season. Winning the league also secured Galatasaray direct qualification for the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League group stage, extending the club's record as Turkey's most successful participant in European competition.
