Germany 2008/09 Home Shirt Schweinsteiger (S-Excellent)

The German national team shirts have been manufactured by adidas since 1954, one of the longest-running partnerships in football, and by the time this shirt was worn Germany had already won three World Cups, in 1954, 1974 and 1990. The squad in this period was built heavily around Bayern Munich players, with Bastian Schweinsteiger among the most important. He has grown into one of the best midfielders and an experienced player and leader, both on and off the field. 

This Germany 2008/09 home shirt carried Germany through the back end of a memorable stretch of football. At Euro 2008, Germany reached the final in Vienna, where they lost 1-0 to Spain. Schweinsteiger played a key role throughout the tournament, scoring the equalizer in the semi-final win over Turkey and setting up two goals in a 3-2 quarter-final victory over Portugal, despite having missed a group game through suspension. Into the 2008/09 season, Germany began their qualifying campaign for the 2010 World Cup in Group 4 alongside Russia, Finland, Wales, Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein. This Germany squad was aging and lacked young talent. 

This home shirt has a white base with black detailing and the adidas three stripes running down the sides, a design Schweinsteiger wore throughout both the Euro 2008 run and the start of World Cup qualifying. The DFB eagle crest appears on the chest, and the shirt remains a favorite among collectors from Germany's transitional generation between the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. This Adidas and Germany shirt comes in size small (S) and excellent condition. There are two large pulls in the collar and a few tiny yellow marks on the back and front of the shirt.
