Italy’s 2004/05 home shirt belongs to the period between the 2002 World Cup and the Azzurri’s eventual World Cup triumph in 2006. Produced by Puma under style code 731225, it features the traditional blue of the Italian national team with the federation crest on the chest. The shirt was used during the Euro 2004 tournament in Portugal and the opening stages of Italy’s qualification campaign for the 2006 World Cup.

Euro 2004 ended in disappointment for Giovanni Trapattoni’s side despite Italy remaining unbeaten in the group. The Azzurri opened with a 0–0 draw against Denmark before drawing 1–1 with Sweden, with Zlatan Ibrahimović scoring the late equaliser. Italy then defeated Bulgaria 2–1 through goals from Antonio Cassano and Simone Perrotta, but Sweden and Denmark drew 2–2 in the other group match, leaving Italy third on goal difference and eliminating them. Fabio Cannavaro captained the team during the tournament, while players including Gianluigi Buffon, Alessandro Del Piero, Francesco Totti, Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso were part of the squad. Italy subsequently began their 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign in this shirt, beating Norway, Moldova and Belarus during 2004. Part of the Italy collection at Football Shirt Paradise, this football shirt is available in medium and remains in excellent condition.
