The Netherlands 2004 Home Shirt is an original Nike football shirt with style code HV4427-819. This size small (S) shirt is in mint condition and features the unmistakable orange colour of the Dutch national team. The shirt was worn during the period surrounding the 2004 European Championship campaign.
At UEFA Euro 2004 in Portugal, the Netherlands reached the semi-finals under Dick Advocaat. After progressing from a difficult group that included Germany, the Czech Republic and Latvia, the Dutch defeated Sweden on penalties in the quarter-final. Their tournament ended against hosts Portugal, who won 2–1 in the semi-final. Ruud van Nistelrooy scored four goals during the tournament, including goals against Germany, the Czech Republic and Latvia.
The squad also included players such as Edgar Davids, Clarence Seedorf, Patrick Kluivert, Arjen Robben and Rafael van der Vaart. Robben was only 20 years old at the time and made a strong impression during his first major international tournament. This Nike shirt therefore represents the Netherlands during an important period between two generations of Dutch players and comes from a tournament run that ended among Europe's final four.
