Newcastle United's 2018/19 away shirt was created by PUMA as a modern version of the famous change kit worn by the club during the 1995/96 season. Newcastle launched the design under the name “The Fabric of Newcastle”, using an image of the shirt surrounded by landmarks including the Tyne Bridge, St James' Park and the Sir Bobby Robson statue. Former players David Ginola, Warren Barton and Les Ferdinand, who had worn the 1995/96 version, were involved in the launch campaign. This Newcastle United football shirt is available in size kids M and very good condition. There are some pulls on the front and back of the shirt. The style code and technology printing on the bottom are partly erased. This Puma and Newcastle away shirt uses 753826-02 as style code.
Rafael Benítez remained Newcastle's manager throughout the 2018/19 Premier League campaign. The club faced five of the previous season's top six sides in their opening ten matches and did not record their first league victory until November, when they defeated Watford 1-0. Newcastle recovered during the second half of the season and finished 13th with 45 points, one point more than the previous campaign. They won 12 of their 38 league matches, drew 9 and lost 17, scoring 42 goals and conceding 48. Ayoze Pérez was their leading scorer with 12 Premier League goals, while Martin Dúbravka played all 38 league matches.
Newcastle United's traditional black and white home colours have been used since the 1890s, while the club has regularly used different colours for its away kits. The 1995/96 season referenced by this shirt was the first full campaign of Kevin Keegan's famous team, which finished second in the Premier League after leading the table by 12 points during January. Players such as Les Ferdinand, David Ginola, Alan Shearer and Steve Watson became closely associated with that period. The 2018/19 Puma design therefore reproduced a specific Newcastle kit from the mid-1990s rather than simply using the club's traditional colours in a different combination.
