Newcastle United ended a 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy on 16 March 2025, beating Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, their first significant piece of silverware since the 1955 FA Cup and the moment that finally closed out the club's longest trophy drought. Thanks to a Saudi take-over, Newcastle had the funds needed to really strengthen their squad and add depth to fight for titles and secure Champions League football by ending in the top spots of the Premier League.
Anthony Gordon was central to that run, scoring in Newcastle's semi-final win over Arsenal and recording ten goal involvements across an eleven-match stretch of the season, including a goal inside the opening two minutes of a 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day. Gordon was suspended for the final itself following a red card in an earlier FA Cup defeat to Brighton, but his performances throughout the cup run, combined with a place in England's Euro 2024 squad that summer, established him as one of the club's most important players under Eddie Howe. Ahead of a home game against champions Manchester City that season, Newcastle's supporters unveiled a giant flag of Gordon across the East Stand at St James' Park, a gesture he later described as one of the most emotional moments of his career.
The Newcastle United 2024/25 third shirt is manufactured by Adidas and takes its inspiration from the club's 1999/2000 away shirt and the brand's EQT range from the 1990s. It uses a crisp white base with pops of EQT green around a polo-style collar, and features Newcastle's 1980s crest, showing only the initials NUFC above a magpie rather than the club's modern badge, with a second magpie emblem stitched behind the neck. This popular Newcastle shirt comes in size medium (M) and excellent condition, as there only is slight pillage on the side of the shirt. Adidas made IW0390 the style code for this third shirt.
