AS Roma was founded in 1927 through the merge of three Roman clubs, Alba, Roman, and Fortitudo, and has spent every season since 1929 in the top flight of Italian football. The club plays at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome and has won Serie A three times, the Coppa Italia nine times, and the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022. Paulo Dybala, known as La Joya, was limited by injuries across the season, making 27 appearances and contributing 8 goals and 4 assists, but remained Roma's most creative presence when fit.

The Roma 2024/25 home shirt takes its color palette directly from the tickets used at Campo Testaccio, Roma's first dedicated stadium, where they played from 1929 to 1940. The base is a deep dark red, almost burgundy, layered with thin gold vertical pinstripes across the front, inspired by Roma's Asics-made 1996/97 home shirt. The Adidas three stripes run across the shoulders in gold, and the round crew neck collar is plain and uninterrupted. Under the back of the collar, the text "A.S. Roma" is printed in a style mirroring the typography used on those 1933/34 season tickets.
