Villarreal 2022/23 Home Shirt

Villarreal returned to a simple yellow home design for the 2022/23 season, with Joma keeping the shirt close to the club's established identity. The shirt has a plain yellow base, with small dark blue details around the collar and sleeve edges. The club described the design as deliberately classic, putting the emphasis on the colour that gave Villarreal their nickname, the Yellow Submarine. This Villarreal 2022/23 home shirt comes in size small (S) and new with tags condition. 

Villarreal finished fifth in LaLiga with 64 points from 38 matches, winning 19, drawing 7 and losing 12. They scored 59 goals and conceded 40, securing another season of European football. The team changed manager during the campaign, with Unai Emery leaving for Aston Villa in October and Quique Setién taking over. Villarreal also reached the last 16 of the Copa del Rey, where they lost 3-2 at home to Real Madrid after leading 2-0. In the UEFA Europa Conference League, Villarreal won their qualifying tie against Hajduk Split and finished first in a group containing Lech Poznań, Hapoel Be'er Sheva and Austria Wien. Their European campaign ended in the last 16 against Anderlecht, after a 1-1 draw in Belgium and a 1-0 defeat at the Estadio de la Cerámica. Samuel Chukwueze was one of the team's most productive attackers, scoring 13 goals in all competitions and providing 11 assists.

Villarreal's rise through Spanish football accelerated after Fernando Roig became club president in 1997, when the team was playing in Segunda División. The club reached LaLiga in 1998, qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 2005 and reached the semi finals in 2006, losing to Arsenal by a single goal on aggregate. Their biggest European achievement came in 2021, when Villarreal defeated Manchester United on penalties in the Europa League final in Gdańsk to win the first major trophy in the club's history. The 2022/23 campaign was therefore part of a period in which Villarreal had established itself as a regular European competitor rather than simply a newcomer to the Spanish top division.
